brrrrr!

I had planned on getting up and going straight out to clean up the garden. It is 38 degrees right now. Maybe I'll let it warm up a bit. Give it an hour or so, and then just tackle the weeds, plants etc.

My shopping trip was a success! I did get my free Starbucks drink. I registered a gift card here and they mailed me a postcard for a free birthday drink. Any size or type! I discovered that the kiosk, in the middle of the mall, does not take coupons. The Starbucks inside of Super Target does take them. I was worried that I wouldn't get my free drink! While in Target, I found half sandwiches for $1.09. I was getting hungry and decided it was worth the price. The other sandwiches were $4.00 and up, so the half one was fine. It really satisfied the hunger.

The retail coupon that I was hoping to use expired the day before. Bummer. Must read coupons more carefully. Luckily, I discovered this before I got to the mall. The Borders trip was exactly as I planned. I found the item and paid $5.30 for the $14.99book! It pays to belong to loyalty programs. My son won't know or care that I paid 1/3 of the price for his gift.

My craft gift card was well spent. I did end up paying an extra $1.45. I found a cool pencil that I thought my son would love. It will be a stocking stuffer. It's made of recycled paper and it smells like root beer! They know what they are doing when they put stuff at the checkout lanes! Crazy impulse buys.

Just checked my email and found another birthday perk! A coupon for one free sub from a local sub shop. Again, it totally pays to belong to loyalty shopping clubs. I joined the program, I haven't bought anything yet and today I get a free one. Awesome!

  1. What a great reminder of why it pays to join loyalty programs! JC Penney's sent me a $10 off a $10 purchase for my birthday, but I hadn't really thought about signing up with other companies. Guess I will now.
